I am pondering the importance of surroundings/environment to one's identity. I miss California, not simply the friends and family I've left behind, but the little things too. The weather. I miss the beach. I miss Westwood and Old Town, Catalyst and 99 Bottles. I miss stucco. I miss California license plates. I miss mexican food prepared by Mexicans.
I miss people that understand such things.
Not that I don't enjoy my life here, but Washington is its own world. A world that I do not understand and that does not understand me. |
